Born in the small town of Taylor, Texas, Richard Lopez had two great passions in his early life… football and cars. When he wasn’t playing football, he was working with his uncles and cousins in the garage painting cars and trying to make their go-carts go ever faster. With his football days behind him, Richard enrolled at the Universal Technical Institute, a collision trade school. After graduation, he found work with a multi-state operator in Austin as a paint prepper, eventually moving up to painter, which he skill-perfected over the next couple of years.

Richard’s hard work and attention to detail led to an opportunity to transition to office work as an in-house repair cost estimator. The transition was not an easy one, but Richard persevered and would end up estimating for 8 years, a time which he credits for his understanding of the ins and outs of running a collision company.

Richard used his knowledge and skills to acquire a management position within the same collision repair company of his future Silver Lining Collision business partners. By this time, overseeing multiple locations, Richard was promoted to Regional Director for the Houston market. In just three years, Richard quadrupled the company’s Houston footprint from four to 16 locations. When the umbrella company later merged with another multi-state organization, Richard decided he was ready to strike out on his own, focusing on operations for Silver Lining Collision.

Great customer service and quality repairs are the promises that Richard stands by. His motto is, “Take care of customers and do the right thing, always!”

When not in the garage, Richard enjoys spending time with his wife, Maria, and their four handsome boys, Tristan, Brooklyn, Jameson, and Jack.
